  • How should I prepare for my appointment?
Skin Prep Arrive with clean, bare, and moisturized skin. Groom eyebrows and facial hair for a smooth application. Stop using exfoliants (retinoids, acids, peels, etc.) at least two weeks before the appointment. Use a daily and nightly moisturizer and drink water to keep the skin hydrated. Insert contacts and brush teeth before the appointment. Wear a loose-fitting, button-up or zip-up shirt that doesn’t cover your neck and chest. Hair Prep Hair should be clean, completely dry, and product-free. Make sure conditioner is fully rinsed out to ensure volume and style hold. For most styles, naturally curly hair should be blow-dry hair straight, but don’t flat-iron it, as this can prevent curls from holding. For natural curl styles, please notify us in advance for specific instructions. For silky hair that does not hold a curl, please notify us in advance for specific instructions. Additional fees apply for blow-drying hair ($25 per person) and applying hair extensions ($25 per person). Avoid wearing fleece as it creates static and frizz.
  • Do you have experience with all skin tones, hair types, and facial features?
Our diverse team has extensive experience working with all skin tones, skin types, facial features, and hair textures. We are committed to ensuring that every client looks and feels their best.
  • Do you offer airbrush makeup?

  • Do you offer on-site services?
Yes, we offer on-location services for weddings, events, and special occasions. Travel fees may apply depending on the location. Please inquire for more details.
  • What is your payment policy?

  • Do you charge for early morning appointments?
Yes, early morning appointments starting before 7:00 am for bridal and 8:00 am for special events will incur an additional fee of $25 per half hour.
  • What if I have sensitive skin or allergies?
Please let us know about any skin sensitivities or allergies prior to your appointment. We will do our best to accommodate your needs and can recommend hypoallergenic or fragrance-free products as necessary.
  • Can makeup hide all my pores, wrinkles, and texture?
Makeup cannot entirely eliminate the appearance of pores, wrinkles, and skin texture. It's essential to acknowledge that skin has natural characteristics and textures that cannot be completely concealed. While proper skincare and skillful makeup application can enhance your skin's overall appearance, completely masking pores, wrinkles, and texture is unrealistic.
  • Can you use my own makeup or hair products?
We prefer to use products from our own kits, as these are what we are most familiar with and can ensure the best results. However, if you insist on using your own products, we can accommodate this request with the understanding that you will need to sign a liability waiver. This waiver states that we are not liable for any adverse reactions, and we cannot guarantee the same longevity or performance of the makeup or hair when using products outside of our kits.
  • What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
For non-bridal bookings, we require a minimum of 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. If notice is given after 24 hours, you will be responsible for the full balance of the service. For bridal bookings, any cancellations made within 45 days of the event will be subject to the full balance. All deposits and retainers are nonrefundable, regardless of when the cancellation happens. If you need to reschedule, there will be a rescheduling fee of 25% of the total invoice listed in the contract. This helps cover the time and resources we’ve set aside for your appointment.
  • What is a bridal preview for?
Bridal previews are designed to help you get to know your artist and experiment with different looks to discover what you like and don’t like for your wedding day. They are essential for fine-tuning any adjustments needed to ensure everything is perfect on the day-of. Since we’ll be making adjustments and trying different things during the trial, it’s important to understand that it’s not about achieving 100% perfection at this stage. The preview is an opportunity to see how your hair and makeup hold up throughout the day, allowing us to make tailored adjustments based on your skin and hair’s specific needs.
  • Can I book a preview before my wedding date?
Our bridal previews are exclusively reserved for brides who have already booked our services. These sessions are designed to perfect and fine-tune the specific look for your wedding day, ensuring that everything aligns with your vision. Bridal previews are not intended as trial runs to decide whether to book our services. If you’d like to experience our work before committing to a bridal booking, we recommend booking a regular hair or makeup appointment, which will give you a great sense of our skills and style.
  • Where are bridal previews held?
Bridal previews are held at our studio at 17145 N 51st Ave Suite 100, Glendale, AZ 85308.
  • Can I bring someone to my bridal preview?
While we appreciate the desire to include loved ones, having additional people present can create unnecessary distractions and time constraints, impacting the quality of service provided. Our aim is for the appointment to revolve solely around you, creating the ideal environment for achieving your desired look.
  • How far in advance should I schedule my bridal preview?
We recommend scheduling your bridal preview 2-4 months before your wedding. This allows time for any adjustments while ensuring your look is fresh in mind for the big day.
  • How long does a bridal preview take?
A bridal preview typically lasts 2 hours per service, depending on the complexity of your desired makeup and hair look. We want to ensure there's ample time to make adjustments as needed.
  • Should I bring inspiration photos to my bridal preview?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring any inspiration photos for both makeup and hair, as this helps us understand your style preferences. Additionally, we recommend bringing a photo of how you typically do your makeup. This gives us insight into your comfort level and how much makeup you're accustomed to wearing.
  • What is your bridal booking process?
To secure your wedding date, we require a signed contract and a nonrefundable retainer. Once these are in place, your date is fully secured on our calendar. We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure availability, especially during peak wedding seasons. To put in perspective, some of our brides book up to two years in advance.
  • Can I make changes to my bridal package after booking?
es, you can make changes to your bridal package leading up to your wedding. However, we recommend finalizing all details at least 45 days before the wedding to ensure a smooth experience.

For bridal bookings, any cancellations made within 45 days of the wedding will be subject to the full balance. All retainers are nonrefundable, regardless of when the cancellation occurs. If you need to reschedule, a rescheduling fee of 25% of the total invoice listed in the contract will apply.
  • Can I add services or people to my bridal booking later on?
Yes, as long as we have the availability, you can add additional services or people to your booking. However, we recommend confirming all final details 45 days before your wedding to ensure we can accommodate your entire party.
  • Do you offer touch-up services or stay throughout the wedding?
Yes, we offer touch-up services and extended on-site presence for your wedding day. This can be added to your bridal package for an additional fee if you'd like us to stay for touch-ups after the ceremony. This does not include full look changes throughout the day.
  • Do you provide a timeline for hair and makeup on the wedding day?
Absolutely! The timeline provided by Boss Beauty serves as a helpful guide but does not assign specific individuals to time slots. Scheduling individuals for exact times can lead to delays if someone is unavailable when our artists are ready. To ensure everything runs smoothly and to avoid potential hold-ups, our artists require the flexibility to begin with the next person as soon as they are available.

  • Is skincare important in makeup application?
Skincare plays a crucial role in makeup application. Proper skincare helps create a smooth, hydrated canvas for makeup, allowing it to apply more evenly and last longer. When your skin is well-prepped with cleansing, moisturizing, and any necessary treatments, makeup adheres better and looks more radiant. Additionally, using products suitable for your skin type can help prevent issues such as dryness, oiliness, or irritation, ensuring that your makeup looks fresh, not cakey, and lasts throughout the day.
  • What is a good skincare routine for makeup application?
A good skincare routine for makeup application focuses on hydration and creating a smooth canvas. Here’s a simple routine to follow: Cleanser: Start with a gentle cleanser to remove any impurities without stripping your skin of its natural moisture. Exfoliation: Exfoliate 1-2 times a week to slough off dead skin cells, but be cautious not to overdo it, as this can irritate your skin. Toner: Use a hydrating toner to prep your skin and balance its pH. Look for ingredients like hyaluronic acid or glycerin. Moisturizer: Apply a hydrating moisturizer suitable for your skin type. This step is crucial, as it helps plump the skin and create a smooth base for makeup. Sunscreen: If you're applying makeup during the day, don't forget a broad-spectrum sunscreen to protect your skin. It's also important to discontinue the use of retinols and any drying ingredients leading up to your makeup application, as these can cause flakiness, cakiness, and irritation. A hydrating routine is key to achieving a fresh and flawless look. A hydrafacial with dermaplaning is also recommended 3-5 days prior to makeup application.
  • Do I need extensions?
Whether or not you need extensions depends on your desired look and hair type. Hair extensions can add length, volume, and versatility to your hairstyle, making them an excellent option for brides looking to achieve a specific style or enhance their natural hair, especially for styles like glam waves. If you have fine or thin hair and want a fuller look, extensions can help create that desired effect. Additionally, if your hair is shorter and you want to achieve a longer style for your wedding, extensions can provide that length and drama. However, if you’re happy with your natural hair and it can achieve the look you envision, extensions may not be necessary.
